Lonesome Road is a downloadable expansion for Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian Entertainment and released in 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The add-on serves as a culminating chapter in the main game's narrative, centering on a confrontation with Ulysses, the original Courier Six who declined to deliver the Platinum Chip before the events of New Vegas. Ulysses agrees to reveal his reasons for that refusal, but only if the player's courier travels to the Divide, a devastated wasteland defined by earthquake-fractured terrain and relentless storms. The Divide functions as a new explorable region, hostile in both its environment and its inhabitants. Combining the shooter and RPG mechanics of the base game, Lonesome Road offers resolution to one of Fallout: New Vegas's central mysteries while presenting the player with a choice about whether to undertake the journey at all.
