Florence is a short-form interactive narrative developed by Mountains, released in 2018 for iOS, Android, PC, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch. The game follows Florence Yeoh, a 25-year-old woman caught in the monotony of work, sleep, and social media, whose life shifts when she encounters a cellist named Krish. Drawing from slice-of-life graphic novels and webcomics, the experience unfolds across a series of discrete puzzle-based vignettes, each designed to reflect a specific emotional beat in the relationship — courtship, conflict, mutual growth, and eventual separation. The mechanics adapt to the moment rather than following a single consistent format, using brief interactive sequences to convey feeling rather than traditional gameplay challenge. The game runs approximately 30 minutes and includes an original soundtrack. It was created by the lead designer behind Monument Valley and occupies the puzzle, adventure, and indie genres.
"Florence Yeoh feels a little... stuck. Her life is an endless routine of work, sleep, and spending too much time on social media. Then one day, she meets a cello player named Krish who changes everything about how she sees the world and herself."
