Gal Metal is a music-rhythm and adventure game developed by DMM.com, released for Nintendo Switch in 2018. The premise traces humanity's predicament to an unlikely source: the broadcast of metal music on the Voyager probe's Golden Record, which reached alien ears and triggered a fatal headbanging epidemic among the extraterrestrials. Seeking revenge, the aliens travel to Tokyo's Kichijoji suburb and abduct two high school students — a boy and a drummer named Rinko, who belongs to an all-girls metal club called K.M.G. (Kichijoji Metal Girls). Unable to decide which student to use as their emissary, the aliens merge the two into a single being. The merged protagonist then joins the rest of K.M.G. to repel the eight-tentacled invaders through the power of metal drumming. Gameplay centers on rhythm-based drumming mechanics as the group battles its way through the alien threat.
