Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is an action role-playing game developed by Game Republic Inc. and released for PlayStation 2 in 2005. Set in 12th-century feudal Japan, the game takes place in 1159 AD following the collapse of the old nobility, during which a fearsome warrior clan known as the Heishi have seized control of the land. Armed with powerful mystical stones, the Heishi maintain their dominance through intimidation and brutality.
