Ghost Squad is a light gun arcade shooter developed by Sega AM2, originally released in arcades in 2004 and later ported to the Wii, where it made use of the Wii Remote as a motion-based controller. Players take on the role of an elite anti-terrorist operative across three missions, tasking them with rescuing hostages, apprehending suspects, and defusing bombs. Each mission features branching routes, variable lighting conditions, and player-driven choices that encourage replayability. A progression system allows players to unlock 25 tactical weapons spanning sniper rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, and handguns, alongside unlockable costumes. The game supports cooperative play for up to four players simultaneously. The combination of multiple alternate paths through each stage and a range of unlockable equipment gives the game considerable depth beyond a typical single-playthrough arcade experience.
