Golem is a PlayStation VR puzzle-adventure developed by Highwire Games and released in 2019. The player takes on the role of an injured child confined to bed, who gradually discovers the ability to conjure and inhabit stone constructs called golems. By seeing through each golem's eyes and directing its movements, the player explores environments that would otherwise be unreachable. Early in the game, only small, doll-sized figures can be created, limiting exploration to the immediate surroundings of the bedroom. As abilities expand, the golems grow dramatically in scale — eventually reaching fifteen feet in height — and the scope of exploration widens to include the ruins of an ancient, abandoned city. The game centers on this progression of power, linking the child's recovery and imagination to increasingly grand acts of remote exploration.
