Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land is a PC role-playing game developed by Exquisite Laundry Pet, releasing in 2026. Designed as a homage to Game Boy Color-era JRPGs, the roughly eight-hour single-player campaign follows a gumball who crash-lands in Trick-or-Treat Land and needs a local Scarecrow's help to get home. The Scarecrow's magic is broken, however, and what begins as a search for a spellbook expands into a quest to locate seven Hallowed Patches. Complicating matters, a mysterious antagonistic force called the Chaos Sweets has corrupted the land's competitive trick-or-treating spirit and threatens to transform all candy into coal. The player assembles a party of misfit companions and confronts an assortment of oddball adversaries, from cantankerous vegetables to ghoulish mob bosses. Gameplay combines overworld exploration, puzzle-solving, spell-casting, and potion-brewing with a turn-based battle system built around trick-or-treating mechanics, supported by a main quest and numerous side quests.
Ready for a retro adventure? Join Gumball in Trick-or-Treat Land, an 8-hour JRPG that’s a love letter to the Game Boy era. Getting home shouldn't be this hard, but for a gumball who's just crash-landed, you take what you can get. A local Scarecrow can send you back, but his magic is busted. What starts as a simple errand for a spellbook becomes a huge quest to find 7 Hallowed Patches.
But something is also wrong in the land itself: a shadowy force known only as the Chaos Sweets has usurped the competitive spirit of Trick-or-Treat Land and seeks to turn all candy into coal. To find the patches, you'll have to deal with everyone from cranky vegetables to ghoulish mob bosses. Luckily, you won't be alone. You'll convince a few local misfits to join your party and help even the odds on your journey to restore the joy of trick-or-treating.
Explore an immersive overworld, cast spells, and brew potions in a single-player campaign full of twists and turns. You'll master a unique, turn-based Trick-or-Treating battle system and take on a huge main quest and dozens of surprising side quests. While the overworld puzzles are straightforward, the real challenge lies in the turn-based combat. It’s a game that is designed to be lighthearted, but challenging enough to appeal to all ages!
