Headhunter: Redemption is a third-person shooter and adventure game developed by Amuze, released in 2004 for Xbox and PlayStation 2. Set in a future society reshaped by a devastating viral pandemic, the game takes place across two sharply divided environments: a gleaming high-tech metropolis known as Above, and a subterranean network of labor colonies called Below, populated by those deemed undesirable in the upper world. Veteran Headhunter Jack Wade takes on a new apprentice, Leeza X, after intercepting her during an intrusion into the upper levels, and the two investigate threats emerging from Below. Gameplay centers on a rotatable third-person camera and an equipment system built around the IRIS scanner, which identifies items, provides a 3D tactical map showing enemy positions, and switches to a first-person view for closer environmental analysis. Enemies respond to sound, coordinating flanking attacks when alerted, while players counter through stealth, rolling, and wall-cover mechanics.
