Heavy Weapon is a side-scrolling shooter developed by PopCap Games and released in 2005 for PC. The player controls a single tank rolling rightward across flat ground at a constant pace, able to shift left or right while contending with a sky crowded with jets, helicopters, zeppelins, bombers, and incoming missiles. Survival depends on shooting down threats or dodging their projectiles. Friendly aircraft periodically appear and drop power-ups that enhance speed, firepower, or shielding, and grant special weapons including nukes, rockets, a laser, rapid-fire, and spread fire. Scattered throughout each level are four components of a mega laser; collecting all four temporarily equips the tank with an exceptionally powerful beam weapon. The cartoonish visual style contrasts with the relentless enemy waves, creating an arcade-style challenge centered on resource management and positioning under sustained aerial assault.
