Helium is a first-person sci-fi shooter developed by rocketship and released for PC in 2017. Set in the distant future, it follows a liaison officer who survives a crash landing on the alien world Gliese 86b after a systems malfunction kills the rest of the Vega 237 crew. Stranded alone, the player explores the planet's surface to uncover what caused the disaster and determine the origin of a mysterious signal that drew the crew there in the first place. Gameplay involves combat against alien life forms using an array of science-fiction weapons, traversal across the landscape via hovercycle, and investigation through crew messages left scattered across the environment. The game emphasizes a hardcore shooter experience alongside exploration of strange events and phenomena native to the planet.
