Hell is Others is a hardcore extraction shooter developed by Yonder and released in 2022 for PC. Set in Century City, a perpetually dark noir metropolis balanced between reality and madness, the game follows Adam Smithson, a reclusive apartment dweller whose only companion is a bonsai tree that, like all plant life in the city, requires blood to survive. Players descend from Adam's apartment into the city's dangerous streets on timed runs, gathering blood and resources before returning via elevator — losing everything carried if they fail to escape in time. The game features a PVPVE structure in which other players pursue identical survival goals, creating constant tension during each excursion. An additional single-player mode replaces human opponents with AI enemies called The Things. Between runs, players customize Adam's apartment with items that provide in-city perks, and cultivate blood-fed plants that produce ammunition, with fertilizers enabling variants such as bouncing or silent bullets.
