High Velocity Bowling is a bowling simulation developed by Team Ramrod, an in-house studio within SCE San Diego, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. Released in North America on December 6, 2007, the game was distributed digitally through the PlayStation Network via the PlayStation Store. It was first unveiled at SCEA's Gamers Day 2007 at Santa Monica Studios. A European release followed on May 6, 2008, after an originally planned April date was pushed back due to the rollout of the updated PlayStation Store included in Firmware 2.3. The game centers on recreating the experience of tenpin bowling in a virtual setting. A 2010 update added support for the PlayStation Move motion controller, allowing players to use physical bowling-style gestures in place of traditional gamepad input.
