Iridium Runners is a futuristic on-foot racing game released in 2008 for PlayStation 2. Set across hazard-filled tracks, it features a roster of 20 characters, each with distinct running abilities and techniques, with additional characters and courses unlocked through progression. Races are aggressively competitive — runners can kick, punch, or use weapons to knock rivals off the track entirely, while power-ups and speed-boosting items are distributed throughout each course. Selecting the right character and "pod" sidekick adds a strategic dimension to the action. Three modes structure the experience: Single Race, Cup, and Championship, each presenting different environments and obstacles. The single-player game places the player against five CPU-controlled opponents. Offline multiplayer supports up to four players in split-screen, with Deathmatch and Team variants available for two-player configurations.
