Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past is a 2009 adventure game developed by WorkJam for the Nintendo DS. Rather than a straightforward remake of its predecessor Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles, it expands on that foundation considerably. The three cases from the original game return with revised localization, joined by three additional cases — one of which was created exclusively for the DS. A separate mode called Jake Hunter Unleashed offers comedic stories presented in a distinct style from the main detective narratives. The game also features a password system that unlocks supplemental short stories and developer interviews, providing additional content beyond the core cases. The result is a more substantial package than the earlier release, combining reworked material with new investigations and bonus content across its various modes.
