Jam with the Band is a music game developed by Nintendo SPD Software Development Group for the Nintendo DS, released in 2008. A sequel to the Japan-exclusive Daigasso! Band Brothers, it carries forward the series' musical gameplay on Nintendo's handheld platform. The game features Barbara Bat, a character who also appeared in its predecessor. Alongside the DS release, Nintendo launched a companion Wii Channel called the Live Channel — known in Japan as the Speaker Channel — which allows players to route the game's audio through their television set rather than the handheld's built-in speakers. As a music game, it centers on rhythm-based performance and instrument play, continuing the band-oriented concept established by the original title.
