Jetpac is a shooter-platform game developed by Ashby Computers and Graphics Ltd. and released in 1983 for the Commodore VIC-20, BBC Microcomputer System, and ZX Spectrum. Players take on the role of a test pilot for the Acme Interstellar Transport Company, tasked with assembling rocket ships from component stages scattered across a series of alien planets. Each planet must be visited, the rocket refueled with six fuel pods, and any assembled craft launched before moving on to the next destination. A jetpack allows the pilot to maneuver freely around each single-screen environment, automatically lifting rocket parts, fuel pods, and collectible valuables — including gems, elements, and gold — and dropping them onto the rocket base. Waves of hostile aliens attempt to interfere throughout, and the pilot's Quad Photon Laser Phasers serve as the primary means of dispatching them. Collected valuables are retained as the player progresses through the galaxy.
