Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is a tactical first-person shooter developed by NovaLogic and released in 2004 for PC. The game is set in a near-future Indonesia, where a fictional separatist rebel movement clashes with an international peacekeeping force called Joint Operations across environments ranging from dense jungle and marshland to island archipelagos. The experience is built entirely around online multiplayer, offering five distinct modes: Co-op, Advance and Secure, King of the Hill, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch. Players choose from five character classes — Rifleman, Gunner, Engineer, Sniper, and Medic — each filling a different battlefield role. One of the game's defining technical features is its capacity to support up to 150 players simultaneously in a single match, making large-scale engagements a central part of its identity.
