Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is a beat 'em up and fighting game developed by Spike, released in 2008 for the PlayStation Portable. The player controls Takashi, a bancho — a Japanese delinquent — who is dragged along on a mandatory school field trip to the fictional city of Kyouto. What begins as an unwanted excursion turns into a week-long brawling tournament when Takashi discovers that 47 regional banchos from across Japan have converged on the city, all competing to claim the title of toughest fighter in the country. The game's central objective is to defeat each of these rivals in combat. Complicating matters further, the local Shinsengumi of Ikeda — the city's most powerful fighters — are hostile toward the influx of banchos disrupting their territory. Takashi's best friend and ally Yohei accompanies him throughout the adventure.
