Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is a puzzle-adventure game developed by Matrix Software and released in 2012 for iOS and Android. A spin-off from the Professor Layton series, it centers on Lucy Baker, a rookie detective newly assigned to Scotland Yard, where she partners with Alfendi Layton — son of the celebrated Professor Hershel Layton — to solve cases in a division known as the Mystery Room. Players work through a series of crime investigations, piecing together evidence under the Scotland Yard setting. The game was distributed as a freemium title: the base game, a prologue, and the first two cases are available at no cost, while two additional content packs — containing four cases and three cases respectively — can be purchased through in-app transactions. The game was originally announced at the LEVEL-5 Vision event in 2011.
