Lit is a puzzle-strategy game developed by WayForward, released in 2009 for the Wii. Set in a haunted high school, the game follows an emo teenager named Jake as he searches for his missing girlfriend Rachael. Gameplay centers on manipulating light sources to carve safe paths through darkened corridors and rooms, where remaining in shadow means death. Players interact with a range of objects — slingshots, light bulbs, matches, lamps, windows, and television sets — to illuminate routes and avoid creatures that lurk in the darkness. Each room presents a self-contained puzzle requiring players to reach an exit door while staying within lit areas. The game's mechanics emphasize lateral thinking, as the variety of available light sources demands creative approaches to each stage's layout.
