Little Red Lie is a narrative adventure game developed by WZOGI, released in 2017 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PC, and Mac. Stripping the conventional adventure game format down to a single context-sensitive action — lying — the game focuses entirely on navigating conversations and environments through deception, both toward other characters and oneself. The story alternates between two protagonists, Sarah Stone and Arthur Fox, whose lives run parallel in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto, without the two ever directly crossing paths. Despite this separation, their fates are intertwined, and the game examines the consequences of their choices, relationships, and circumstances. Themes of financial precarity, family dynamics, class, and social pressure are central to the experience. Rather than puzzle-solving or action, the gameplay consists of carefully chosen dishonest interactions that shape how each character's story unfolds, making deception the primary mechanical and thematic foundation of the work.
