LocoRoco is a platform puzzle game developed by SCE Japan Studio, released in 2006 for the PlayStation Portable and legacy mobile devices. Set across more than 40 levels of pastel-colored environments filled with flowers and animated creatures, the game tasks the player with guiding blob-like beings called LocoRoco to safety after their world is invaded by a hostile alien force known as the Moja Corps. Rather than controlling the LocoRoco directly, the player manipulates the planet itself, tilting and shifting the terrain to roll, bounce, and navigate the creatures through slippery slopes, unstable platforms, and winding passages. The LocoRoco adapt fluidly to the surfaces they travel across, making environmental manipulation the central mechanic. The game's colorful visual style and physics-based movement distinguish it from conventional platformers of the era.
