Lumines II is a music-driven puzzle game developed by Q Entertainment for the PlayStation Portable, released in 2006. Building on the mechanics of the original Lumines, players manipulate falling blocks composed of four colored squares, arranging them to form solid same-color groupings on the board. A sweeping timeline periodically crosses the screen, clearing any completed squares it passes over, which creates constant pressure to build and complete formations quickly. Eliminating four or more squares at once applies a bonus multiplier to the player's score. The visual presentation closely resembles that of Lumines Live! and the PC version of Lumines, carrying a similar aesthetic across both gameplay and menu screens. The title does not include infrastructure multiplayer functionality. As with its predecessor, the experience ties block-clearing puzzle action to a dynamic musical soundtrack, with the rhythm and visuals shifting across different themed stages.
