Made Man is a third-person shooter developed by SilverBack Studios and released in 2006 for PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows. Players control Joey Verola, a former soldier drawn into the New York City Mafia, who must revisit pivotal moments across three decades of his life as he climbs the ranks of organized crime. The narrative moves from the battlefields of Vietnam through the streets of Brooklyn, tracing Verola's transformation from soldier to fully initiated mob member. The storyline was written by crime author David Fisher in collaboration with former mafioso Salvatore "Bill" Bonanno, lending the game a degree of firsthand authenticity to its portrayal of American organized crime. Combat and story unfold through a retrospective structure, with Verola reliving key episodes — including every kill — that defined his ascent within the underworld.
Joey is forced into the world of crime when he saves a don's right-hand man in Vietnam. The game's missions are a series of flashbacks: as Joey is being driven to the don's place to be made he reveals to his nephew how he rose through the ranks.
