Manifest 99 is a virtual reality adventure developed by Flight School Studio and released in 2017 for PlayStation VR, PC, and SteamVR. Set aboard a spectral train carrying passengers toward the afterlife, the experience follows four mysterious travelers whose histories and reasons for boarding the train must be gradually uncovered. Movement and interaction are handled entirely through gaze — by looking into the eyes of crows that inhabit the train, players shift perspective to different perches, experiencing the environment at the birds' scale. Examining fellow passengers and discovering scattered items gradually reveals the circumstances connecting them and the player to this journey into the beyond. The game requires no physical controller and is designed to be played seated or standing. Its visual presentation employs a painterly, stylized aesthetic, and its central themes revolve around guilt, consequence, and the possibility of redemption.
