Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play action RPG developed by Gazillion Entertainment and released in 2013 for Windows and Mac, in which players control characters drawn from the Marvel Comics universe. Progression centers on leveling up individual heroes, with each level granting passive stat bonuses suited to that character as well as power points that can be allocated across three distinct skill trees. Each tree emphasizes a particular mechanic or combat approach — Iron Man's defensive shields, Hawkeye's trick arrows, and Deadpool's firearms serve as representative examples. Skills carry level caps that gate further investment until the character reaches a qualifying level, encouraging steady progression rather than early specialization. As heroes advance, additional skills become available, giving players increasing flexibility in shaping how a given character performs in combat. The system is designed so that build identity develops gradually over the course of a playthrough.
