Metal Mutation is a post-cyberpunk action roguelike dungeon crawler developed by T0 Studio, released in 2023 for PC. Set in a near-future world dominated by corporate power and advanced technology, the game follows a cyborg and an AI partnering to combat a spreading metal mutation caused by nanoparticles that threatens to collapse human society. Players navigate procedurally driven runs, upgrading their character, customizing weapons, and combining elemental synergies to execute stylish combos across a variety of combat encounters. The setting explores themes of corporate monopoly and the social divide between augmented and unaugmented humans. Between story runs, a separate mode called The Shelter supports up to four players cooperatively, offering wave-based combat against monsters as a means of accumulating resources and learning enemy patterns. Death functions as a temporary setback in keeping with roguelike conventions, feeding back into character progression across subsequent attempts.
