Meteos Wars is a falling-block puzzle game developed by Q Entertainment, released in 2008 for Xbox 360. It is an adaptation of the Nintendo DS title Meteos, rebuilt around gamepad controls rather than a touchscreen interface. Colored blocks called meteos descend toward a planet's surface, stacking into columns that the player manipulates by sliding pieces up or down with a cursor. Aligning three or more blocks horizontally or vertically ignites them, launching clusters toward the top of the screen via rockets; vertical matches produce stronger ignitions. Caught incoming blocks add weight, requiring secondary ignitions to keep groups aloft. Blocks successfully cleared past the screen's edge drop onto an opponent's board. A time-acceleration mechanic generates explosive time bombs, and a fillable gauge unlocks one of four planet impact abilities with distinct offensive or defensive effects. Single-player offers versus, mission, and attack modes, while multiplayer supports both local and online competitive play.
