Metropolis Street Racer is a street racing simulator developed by Bizarre Creations for the Dreamcast, released in 2000. The game revolves around a single-player career in which a street racer must complete driving challenges across three real-world cities, earning respect through a combination of speed and stylish technique measured by a system called Kudos. Challenges are grouped into sets of ten known as Chapters, with 25 Chapters in total. Completing all challenges within a Chapter, provided the player has accumulated sufficient Kudos, unlocks the next Chapter along with a new car. Each individual challenge takes place on a distinct track, and clearing it opens that track for use in time-attack and multiplayer modes. Multiplayer content, including cars and tracks, is unlocked in parallel with single-player progression rather than through a separate path.
