Released in 2003 for PC, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight is a civilian flight simulation title developed by Microsoft Game Studios that commemorates a hundred years of aviation history. The game features nine historically significant aircraft, including the 1903 Wright Flyer, the Douglas DC-3, the Vickers Vimy, the Curtiss Jenny, and the Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, each accompanied by challenges tied to their historical contexts. Several systems received notable upgrades from previous entries in the series: air traffic control was improved, and the weather system was made dynamic. GPS functionality was overhauled to reflect real-world Garmin 500 and 295 units. A dedicated Learning Center help system was also introduced, providing in-simulation guidance for pilots of varying experience levels.
