Midway Arcade Treasures is a 2003 compilation of 24 classic arcade titles developed by Backbone Entertainment and published by Midway for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and PC. The collection spans a wide range of genres, including fighting, shooting, platforming, racing, sports, beat 'em up, and adventure games, drawing from Midway's back catalog of arcade releases. It was the first entry in a series of similar compilations from the publisher, which continued with Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Midway Arcade Treasures 3, the handheld-focused Extended Play, and the Windows-exclusive Deluxe Edition. Following Midway's bankruptcy, Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the library and later released Midway Arcade Origins for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, a compilation that drew from the first two Treasures volumes along with one title from the third.
