Miitopia is a role-playing game developed by Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development, released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. Players populate a fantasy kingdom with Mii characters modeled after real people, assigning them jobs that determine their stats, abilities, equipment, and appearance. The central quest involves confronting a villain called the Dark Lord, who has stolen the faces of Miitopia's citizens. Combat follows traditional turn-based mechanics, but with a notable twist: the relationships between party members influence battle outcomes. Characters interact outside of combat as well, building or straining friendships through shared meals, camping, exercise, and sleeping arrangements. Exploration takes place across a world map containing hidden paths and treasures, where enemy encounters occur as players navigate between locations.
