MotoGP 3 is a motorcycle racing simulation developed by Namco and released for PlayStation 2 in 2003. Built around the 2002 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, it continues in the same vein as Namco's earlier MotoGP titles for the platform while introducing meaningful mechanical distinctions tied to a real-world rule change. The shift to four-stroke machinery brought 990cc bikes into the roster alongside the outgoing 500cc two-stroke machines. The larger four-strokes offer greater top-end speed but are more difficult to manage, whereas the two-strokes are comparatively slower yet more forgiving to ride. This dynamic gives riders a practical trade-off to consider when approaching races. The core gameplay otherwise follows the established structure of its predecessors, making it an incremental but technically grounded entry in Namco's long-running Grand Prix racing series.
