MotorStorm: Apocalypse is a 2011 racing game developed by Evolution Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment exclusively for PlayStation 3. It is the fourth entry in the MotorStorm series and the third to appear on the platform, released in Asia under the title MotorStorm 3. The game departs from the series' off-road festival setting, placing races within a crumbling urban environment where the city itself is actively collapsing around competitors. Players drive a range of vehicle classes through chaotic courses that shift and deteriorate dynamically as races unfold. The title launched in Europe in March 2011, though its UK and North American releases were delayed by Sony following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, with North America ultimately receiving the game in May 2011. The game was announced publicly in June 2010 ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
