Mutazione is a point-and-click adventure game developed by Die Gute Fabrik and released in 2019, available across PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The story follows Kai, a fifteen-year-old who travels to the isolated island community of Mutazione to care for her ailing grandfather. The settlement's origins trace back over a century to a meteor strike that killed most of a tropical resort's inhabitants and left survivors with strange mutations. Beneath the community's ordinary rhythms of barbecues, band nights, and boat trips, secrets and tensions quietly accumulate. Gameplay unfolds across multiple in-game days, blending exploration and character-driven drama with a gardening system in which players cultivate plants across varied soil types and spatial arrangements. Each plant produces distinct sounds, and combining different species generates layered musical compositions. A central spiritual journey runs alongside these quieter domestic activities, building toward a resolution involving a mysterious darkness threatening the community.
