Nebulus is a platform game developed by Hewson Consultants and released in 1987, available across numerous systems including the Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, DOS, and others. The player controls a small green character whose goal is to reach the summit of eight towers and destroy them, as their existence is contaminating the water of planets marked for colonization. Ascending each tower involves navigating exterior walkways, jumping onto moving ledges, and dealing with various enemies through running, jumping, and kicking. A technically notable feature for its time was the tower's rotating presentation — the character remained fixed at the center of the screen while the cylindrical structure itself turned, producing a convincing pseudo-3D effect. Between tower stages, the player travels underwater in a submarine called the MK.7, in brief side-scrolling sequences where bonus points can be collected before the next tower challenge begins.
