Neo Atlas 1469 is a strategy-simulation title developed by Artdink, released in 2016 and available on PC, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Set in 15th-century Europe, the game casts the player as the head of a trading company during an era when the true shape of the world remained unknown. Hired admirals are dispatched across uncharted seas and return with reports of their discoveries — accounts that range from credible geographical findings to encounters with mythical creatures such as krakens. Approving or rejecting each report directly determines how the world map takes shape, meaning the resulting geography can differ dramatically across playthroughs. Alongside exploration, maintaining a profitable trading operation is essential, as admiral wages and fleet upkeep demand steady income. Establishing trade routes between newly discovered territories generates revenue, and certain combinations of exotic goods can yield entirely new products. Hidden treasures, located using a dedicated dowsing tool, provide an additional layer of discovery throughout the campaign.
