Neversong is a 2019 platformer-adventure developed by Atmos Games (Thomas Brush, creator of Pinstripe) for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. The game follows Peet, a boy who awakens from a coma to find his girlfriend missing and the adults around him growing increasingly violent. Armed with a baseball bat, Peet ventures into Blackfork Asylum alongside a group of childhood friends and a pet bird to uncover the truth behind recent events. Gameplay spans six hand-illustrated levels, from Red Wind Field to the asylum's interior, and involves platforming, combat against bosses and enemies, and puzzle-solving. The experience is framed as a dreamlike, dark fable with a piano-centric soundtrack central to its atmosphere. The project originated from a concept developed nearly a decade before its release.
Once upon a time there was a little boy named Peet who slept peacefully in a coma. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a nightmare.
