New Play Control! Pikmin 2 is a real-time strategy and adventure game developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, originally released on Wii in 2009 with a later Wii U release. Players control Captain Olimar, who returns to an alien planet accompanied by a fellow employee to recover buried treasures on behalf of his financially struggling employer. The goal is to accumulate enough salvage to pay off a debt of 10,000 Pokos and stave off the company's bankruptcy. Gameplay involves commanding multiple colors of Pikmin across an open-ended world, directing these small creatures to unearth hidden objects. The two-character setup introduces a cooperative dynamic not present in the original game. The New Play Control edition adapts the experience for Wii's motion controls, reworking the interface from the original GameCube release.
