Null Vector is a twin-stick shooter developed by Alex Miele of Optical Override, released in 2018 for PC. Players navigate six randomly generated sectors, battling waves of enemies and mini-bosses on the way to a Final Boss encounter. The game blends roguelite structure with retro aesthetics, incorporating permadeath and procedurally varied runs that draw heavily from 1980s arcade sensibilities. Central to the experience is a loadout-building system based on 15 ship parts that can be earned, traded for, or gambled on. Combining parts unlocks thousands of potential weapon configurations. Between combat rooms, players interact with machines that allow strategic resource management — converting HP to Crystals, destroying unwanted parts for rewards, or permanently welding components to free up inventory space. Modular difficulty settings let players customize each run, while an optional Hell Mode raises the challenge considerably. Local co-op support is also available. Music and audio were handled by Adam Alake.
