Developed by ArtePiazza and released for the Wii in 2007, Opoona is a role-playing game that blends life-simulation elements with action combat. The story follows Opoona, a young boy descended from a warrior lineage called the Cosmo Guards, who becomes stranded on Planet Landroll after a mysterious accident separates him from his family during an interplanetary vacation. Cut off from his siblings, he must build an independent life on an unfamiliar world while searching for them and defending Landroll's inhabitants against hostile beings known as Dark Rogues. The game describes itself as a "Lifestyle RPG," meaning progression extends beyond combat to include finding employment, forming relationships, and integrating into society. Battles are action-oriented and revolve around projectiles called Energy Bonbons, whose trajectories players manipulate using the Wii Nunchuk alone — a design that enables complete single-handed control of the entire game.
