Paradise is a point-and-click adventure game developed by White Birds Productions and released in 2006 for PC, Nintendo DS, and iOS. Created by Benoit Sokal, known for the Syberia series, the game follows Ann Smith, a young amnesiac woman who is revealed to be the estranged daughter of an African dictator. Stranded in a politically volatile Africa, she must travel through four distinct environments — ranging from arid desert to dense jungle — while escorting a black leopard to its homeland and uncovering the truth about her own identity. Gameplay blends traditional point-and-click puzzle-solving with a secondary mechanic that activates at night, allowing players to control the leopard directly in real time, climbing trees and navigating the environment. Puzzles are woven organically into the narrative rather than relying on abstract mechanisms. The game is notable for its art direction, featuring over 360 hand-crafted backgrounds rendered with Rembrandt-influenced lighting across its African settings.
