Phantom Crash is a mech combat simulator-shooter developed by Genki and released on Xbox in 2002. Set in a near-future Tokyo abandoned after severe air pollution and economic collapse, the game revolves around a spectator sport called Rumbling, in which pilots operate combat mechs known as Scoobees in arena-style battles watched by crowds aboard a massive airborne viewing platform. Scoobees are heavily armed, high-speed machines distinguished by a stealth mechanic that allows them to turn invisible for short periods, adding a tactical layer to the combat. Players compete in this dangerous entertainment circuit against aggressive opponents in matches where the consequences are severe. The setting draws on a dystopian reimagining of Tokyo, and the combination of mech customization, fast-paced fighting, and stealth-based strategy defines the core experience across the game's single-player and competitive modes.
