Pikmin 2 is a real-time strategy and adventure game developed by Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development, released in 2004 for the Nintendo GameCube. Players control Captain Olimar, who returns to the alien planet from his previous ordeal, this time tasked with salvaging an assortment of discarded trinkets to sell and rescue his financially troubled company. A central mechanic allows players to switch freely between two astronaut characters during exploration and item collection, adding a layer of coordination to the experience. Beyond the main campaign, the game includes multiplayer options: a two-player cooperative challenge mode and a separate competitive mode, broadening its replay value.
