Pilotwings Resort is a flight simulation game developed by Nintendo and released in 2011 as a launch title for the Nintendo 3DS. Set above the tropical Wuhu Island, the game puts players in control of three distinct aircraft — a propeller plane, a hang glider, and a rocket belt — each handling differently and suited to varied challenges. The primary mission mode tasks players with completing objectives such as precision landings, target passes, and timed flights across a range of difficulty levels, while a Free Flight mode allows for more relaxed exploration of the island, including the option to photograph landmarks and scenery. The 3DS hardware's stereoscopic display is used to render the aerial environments in three dimensions, lending a sense of depth to the open skies and island terrain below.
