Pixel Galaxy is a shoot 'em up developed by Serenity Forge, released in 2015 for PC, Mac, and Xbox One, built around a concept of absorbing rather than shooting. The player controls a single white pixel that can assimilate defeated enemy pixels, taking on their bodies, abilities, and weapons in the process. Managing the resulting vessel requires balancing competing priorities — a smaller form stays agile while a larger one carries more firepower, but the core white pixel must be guarded at all times, as any fatal error ends the run. Enemy waves are randomized on every playthrough, ensuring no single strategy remains reliable for long. Six difficulty modes each introduce distinct enemies, weapons, and bosses, and a dedicated Boss Rush mode chains together previously encountered bosses for an extended challenge. Local co-op allows two players to collect pixels independently, with revival possible by direct contact. Online leaderboards let players compare results across the broader player base.
