Pop-Up Pilgrims is a PlayStation VR platform-puzzle-strategy game developed by Dakko Dakko, released in 2018 for PlayStation 4. The game centers on guiding a group of pilgrims across more than 50 stages under the watch of a deity called the Floating Cloud God. Each stage is constructed as a pop-up island that curves around the player in a wrap-around 3D space, while all characters, environments, and enemies are rendered as 2D graphics within that three-dimensional layout. The player directs pilgrims across platforms in four directions — left, right, forward, and backward — navigating around hostile demons and other obstacles to reach each stage's exit. The visual presentation and spatial design are central to the experience, making deliberate use of the PlayStation VR headset to place the player at the center of the curving level geometry.
