Powerdrome is a futuristic racing game released in 1988 for Amiga, Atari ST/STE, and DOS, developed around the premise of a long-running high-speed racing series in its 24th year of competition. Rather than traditional flat circuits, races take place inside multi-textured half-pipe tracks piloted in small aircraft, with visual shading used to signal upcoming corners and elevation changes. The game features six circuits spread across different planets, each with its own atmospheric conditions that require the pilot to adjust the aircraft's filters accordingly. Hazards include chicanes, tunnels, and crusher gates, while rain on certain circuits triggers mandatory pit stops for maintenance. Afterburners provide brief speed boosts but carry risks if overused. Single-player mode pits the racer against five computer-controlled opponents, and a two-player mode is supported via data link cable. The Amiga version includes adjustable control sensitivity, with both joystick and mouse input supported.
