Project: Horned Owl is a 1995 rail shooter developed by Alfa System exclusively for the PlayStation. Set in a future metropolis called Metro City, the game casts players as mech-suited law enforcement officers battling an army of robots led by a rogue dictator. Combat unfolds across urban environments where destructible elements — including cars, walls, and factory conveyor mechs — add interactivity to the action. Players must navigate carefully around civilian bystanders scattered throughout each stage. The game supports two-player cooperative play and is compatible with the Konami Enforcer light gun peripheral. Enemy encounters feature a range of futuristic threats, among them cybernetic soldiers, armored mechs, tanks, missiles, and energy-based weapons, all displayed through in-game heads-up displays. Japanese animated cutscenes connect the combat sequences, providing narrative continuity across the campaign's escalating urban warfare.
