Subject 2923 is a story expansion for Remnant: From the Ashes, the third-person shooter RPG developed by Gunfire Games and released in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Continuing directly from the base game's narrative, the expansion sends players through new zones and dimensions, where they encounter fresh allies and face previously unseen enemy types rooted in the ongoing conflict against the Root. New quests and boss encounters drive the progression, with each defeated boss yielding additional gear that improves survivability across the expansion's environments on Earth and elsewhere. The add-on is designed to extend the core loop of exploration, combat, and loot acquisition that defines Remnant, while advancing the overarching goal of ending the Root's threat and restoring humanity. It retains the base game's blend of action shooting and RPG character-building across its new content.
